Other Ingredients

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  • Olive Oil

Top Tips

  • Oil your meat, instead of oiling the pan before adding your meat in.
  • For a fillet Steak, sear the steak all around, not just front and back.
  • Recommended cooking times (based on our 170g sirloin steak): Rare - 2 minutes each side, Medium - 3 minutes each side, Well Done - 4 minutes each side.

Method

  1. Before grilling, bring the steak to room temperature and pat dry.
  2. Season your steak - but don't season it too early as it will draw out moisture.
  3. If you're cooking your steak in a pan, heat a large, non-stick frying pan over a medium to high heat. Alternatively, turn on your grill.
  4. Once the pan or grill is hot, carefully place your steak in.
  5. Turn the steak once half-way though to allow for even cooking, and add a knob of butter to form a delicious crust.
  6. Once you've cooked your steak to your liking, allow the steak to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
