Only bought these as my grandchildren were coming and used them to save time most of them had black eyes won’t be buying them again

These are the best ready made roast potatoes I’ve ever had and the reason why is there not mashed and reformed then coated in wheat flour which others are which is no good if you have a gluten problem like I and many others do these are proper potatoes coated in real beef dripping that gives the smell & taste as if cooked with a beef joint that leaves a lovely crispy crunchy shell. I don’t understand why others are complaining about them being greasy smelly and using animal fat when that’s what they should be if they where suitable for vegans or vegetarians it would say so.

These are by far the best roasties I've bought

Great when time is precious and still fluffy and crispy.

Maybe my hopes were too high. Can't agree more with the review about greasy potatoes and a stale smell after cooking. The final nail in the coffin though is the sad fact that these have a hideously tough exterior despite lots of basting. Sorry McCain - not good and not nice.

Authentic tasting and good value

I found these very greasy and they left a smell like a stale cooking smell in my kitchen, Aunt Bessies are better sorry

I always like to think my homemade roasties are the best, but sometimes it's a faff with all the peeling and so on; these on the other hand take much less work and taste pretty decent (all our guests scored them a good 7/10). I placed mine in a glass ovenproof dish, with plenty of room round them, turned the spuds after 20 mins cooking and after the 40 mins was up, i drained the excess oil out and finished them off for a further 10 mins and they tasted great!

I cannot understand people who say these are not good. They are every bit as good as home made. Love them. Crispy, fluffy and yummy!

I've always bought frozen roast potatoes for quickness but they've never tasted like home cooked but these are delicious and actually taste like homemade so full marks and a regular buy.

There is no need to use animal fat it tastes disgusting.

These are the most delicious roast potatoes you will ever eat. Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside.

My guilty pleasure once a week on Sunday. Crispy, tasty and gorgeous.

Worst roast spuds i have had. If you like soggy fat ridden greasy pots then these are for you

These roasties are delicious. I sprayed a little oil on them halfway through cooking and they came out crispy and perfect.

As good or better than home made, does exactly what it says on the packet.

Had these on Sunday - they were really nice. I kept turning them as they cooked so they all got crispy. Tasted delicious - everyone enjoyed them - makes my life easier!

Not the best, despite all the advertising, I normally buy Aunt Bessie's or Iceland's. Both superior to these, but haven't been in stock for the last 2 weeks! Won't buy again just because they are the only brand in stock, will make my own.

These potatoes are rubbish! When you open the bag they are like marbles and definitely not worth the price. Even the cheaper brands are better than these. I will certainly not be buying these again. Come on Iceland bring back aunt Bessie's they are a lot better than this rubbish your selling.

McCain Crispy Roasts are no good for a mixed house of meat eaters and vegetarians. Take ages to cook, look sickly when packet opened. Need the old ones back Iceland
