So handy to have in the freezer and taste so much nicer than tinned mushy peas which have so many preservatives and colouring. Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes, add salt to taste and they are just like chip shop peas.

As someone who lives on their own these are a great fund! Being rather partial to a mushy pea that normally comes from a box and needs to be soaked (a tinned mushy pea isn’t bad but a mere imitation of the real thing), I found these tasted exactly the same as the boxed variety but, being frozen, I can cook as much or as little as I require. I now always have a bag in the freezer should I get the urge!

You have to boil these for 30 minutes! What a nuisance, they might as well have cooked them in the factory. No point in this product wasting space in my freezer as it does not offer convenience. I'd rather get cans. Alternatively I could cook dried ones in my pressure cooker in the same time as these take. Utterly pointless product.

What a find :) ........ absolutely gorgeous...... cook for 30mins & I add some salt & sugar & they are just like chip shop style. Fantastic authentic flavour & you just cook what you require .... 5 *****

Fantastic mushy peas ...very hap-pea! These are really good quality and ‘mush’ less faff than soaking overnight. Once simmered for 30 mins they do mush with just a bit of stirring. They are not flavored or colored and are exactly what mushy peas should be. They come to life with the addition of a little salt. We routinely use these for a pie n peas supper, or home re-creation of a chippy tea. The whole family love them. I cannot recommend them enough.

Amazing .. quick and easy .. saves on overnight soaking

Lockwoods mushy peas are traditional mushy peas, like the ones you get in harry Ramsden. They are the taste of dried peas, I put them in the saucepan with about their depth again covered in water, then simmer for at least 40mins, stirring occasionally. These are not a speedy option, or a taste like tinned mushy peas. They are authentic and traditional. I love them and don't use anything else.

Horrible and tasteless, completely unlike any mushy peas from a chip shop that I've ever eaten and not even as good as tinned or ordinary frozen peas.

great peas can not get enough of them better than the chippy

I never read cooking instructions before buying- my mistake! They need to be boiled in a pan (not microwaved) for 1/2 hour then mash them yourself. I thought it would be heat and eat for quickness like the mashed potato is. After all this faffing about they tasted nothing like mushy peas I have ever had, they all (cooked and uncooked) went in the bin. Didn't like them at all.
