The name Kumala comes from a combination of local tribal dialects and means 'to do things differently.' Kumala keeps on going from strength to strength and is arguably producing the best wine it has ever made under the confident leadership of Bruce Jack. The reason for this is the close relationship between the grape growers and our top winemakers. South Africa's wine producing area has 5 distinct regions, divided into 14 distinct districts. At Kumala, grapes are sourced from a number of these regions so that only the best quality is chosen. The grapes for Kumala Cape White were fermented in open stainless steel tanks for 2 weeks without any oak use. This helps to keep the wine really fresh and fruity. Recently awarded the title of Wine Personality of the Year at the Financial Mail Wine Business Awards, Bruce Jack is one of South Africa's biggest movers and shakers making distinctive, stylish wines.. Wine of South Africa. Fresh and lightly floral on the nose with hints of apple, white pear, pineapple and tropical fruit. Kumala.

Didn't enjoy this at all. Kumala has some good wines such as their fruity red BUT this in my opinion is not one of them. It was like drinking medicine - no decent finish to it, didn't taste pleasant and each gulp was a chore. Three-quarters of the bottle went down the sink - so at least a bit of disinfecting with alcohol in that regard.

I had high hopes for this wine based on the reviews, but it’s truly horrible. Don’t bother!

Maybe it's just me, but every time I have this wine I feel like I've got a cold whilst I'm drinking it. Runny nose, sneezing. Won't be buying this again! Shame, as nice taste!

Generally find South African wines to be good and this was no exception.
