glad this is back in stock, really lovely tasty gammon great size for the money well done again iceland

Lovely gammon. I bring it to the boil and throw away water and refill. This get grid of excess salt. Delious.

Cooked this joint in a slow cooker. Absolutely delicious.

We buy gammon joints like this regularly from various supermarket. This joint was different. The texture seemed coarser, the colour darker and it was more salty. Having said that it was pleasant to eat with the saltiness being the only thing that would stop me from buying again. But we do eat a low salt diet generally, and I'm sure that for people who add salt to food the joint would be perfectly acceptable.

Cooked this exactly as my Mum showed me. First soak the joint overnight in a saucepan of cold water. Next morning empty the water out and fill with fresh cold water. Bring to the boil slowly and when the white scum comes to the top, remove it with a spoon or do what I do out of habit, empty the water for a second time (optional of course, but don't like my gammon salty at all) add fresh water, bring to the boil and then gently simmer it for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Wrap it in foil on a warm plate and let it stand for a minimum 10 minutes. I guarantee you will have the most succulent, melt in your mouth, completely unsalty, delicious joint of gammon which slices perfectly. Heavenly as a meal with plenty for sandwiches. Can't fault the Gammon, it's the preparation by some that unfortunately goes wrong. Try it !!

WE have bought this joint several times we part boil and roast then have it as a roast dinner. Left overs and for sandwiches and we then cube it with a chicken breast boiled in milk and cubed make a white sauce. with left over milk put in a dish cover with a sheet of puff pastry and we have a nice pie

Wasn’t sure what to expect due to some reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Cooked perfectly. Not too salty. Very tasty and a big joint for the price.

Had this in the freezer and thought it was about time I cooked it roasted in the oven for 4 hrs under foil 160 perfect wasn’t expecting much but great joint

Boiled gently, Very tender and tasty.

I decided foolishly that we would have this gammon on Sunday. I read the instructions to boil or roast and as it was for Sunday lunch l thought roast what mistake there was so much salt the the gammon which made it impossible to eat, it was horrible. I have re read the instructions and it doesn't say anything about how much salt is in it. On the front of packet you are told UNSALTED. Which now has put my husband in a bad mood thats Iceland.
