How to cook

Defrost

In a refrigerator for a minimum of 8 hours.


Shallow Fry Defrost

Shallow Fry Cook time: 6 min. - 12 min.

Remove from all packaging, place butter pellet to one side and allow steak to stand at room temperature for 10 minutes.

Rub steak with a little oil and season.

Pre-heat a frying pan over a high heat, fry for 1 minutes each side and reduce to a medium heat.

Continue to cook for a further Rare 2-3 minutes each side Medium 3-4 minutes each side Well Done 4-5 minutes each side.

Add butter pellet to the pan for the last minute of cooking time.

Allow to stand 2-3 minutes before serving.

Our family loves good steaks maybe even a bit too much, but it’s easy and proper meal. This was the first time we tried Iceland Luxury Gaucho Rump Steaks- I couldn’t believe my tastebuds. Definitely the best steaks for ages. So tender, so beautiful and oh so tasty! I believe in room temperature when frying meat, rather couple of hours or more. No salt nor seasoning, just tap steak dry all around using napkin or kitchen roll. Hot frying pan, unsalted butter, and desired finish, that in my case is well done. (After approx a minute each side in hot temp, turn the heat to medium to avoid butter burning.) Let the steak rest for few minutes and enjoy. Mouth watering delicious.

I ordered 2 of these steaks and cooked them medium but unfortunately they were both full of gristle and I would say half of the steak went in the bin as it was inedible. The butter sauce that came with it was nice though. I wouldn’t bother with these in future. I would recommend paying the extra 50p for the Iceland fillet steak as they were really good and not a scrap of waste on them.

Cooked medium it was tough as old boots and full of gristle. Two of my cats had a go at it then abandoned it! Avoid as complete waste of money.

Thought I would try this as GAUCHO. Would not buy again as only part of it edible, full of grissle.

Really large steaks for the money, we cut them in half and shared them between 2. They ate really well so I am going back for more.

Bought 2 of these rump steaks. Flavour was excellent but unfortunately my partners was full of gristle and unchewable. I felt bad that mine was OK. They ALL need to be free of gristle when 2 of you are eating them together. Shall not risk buying them again.

This rump steak is lovely and it's just as good as the other in this Luxury range, I cook it to my instructions very well done and melt the herb butter over just before I serve, well done Iceland another that all customers should try.

This was absolutely fabulous. I had a Tesco Finest ribeye steak last week which cost £6.20, it was very inferior compared to this Gaucho steak. I highly recommend it.

Just tried this for Sunday lunch, flavour was good but texture was a little firm and not over cooked,

Really, really impressed with this. Great flavour and texture, it was such good value, would definitely recommend.

Had this and my wife had the Sirloin for tea last night and we were both surprised with the superb taste and was so tender.....much better than any of the chilled steaks we have bought.

Really tender meat. Blown away with the quality on this.

Very disappointed with this steak. It was tough and had lots of sinew through it. Will not purchase again.
