Additional Information

"Colossal" is defined by something gigantic in place and time. Made from selected grapes grown in our wide and beautiful areas of vineyards, this full bodied blend of Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Tinta Roriz and Alicante Bouschet features an intense colour with ripe black fruit and spicy flavours, well balanced with smooth tannins and a long, full and pleasant finish. With an intense rubi colour, this wine presents itself with a great concentration in the nose. Extremely rich aroma with predominance of red ripe fruits and some floral notes, well integrated with notes of spices coming from the ageing in French and American oak barrels. In the mouth it shows great complexity with notes of plums and blackberries. The finish is rich and elegant.. Wine of Portugal. Challenge international Du Vin or France 2018. Colossal.

It's great to see a company like Iceland championing Portuguese wines. This one's quite a heavy weight with traditional Portuguese Touriga Nacional grapes backed up by Syrah. Deep, jammy, rich. We keep on buying this.

Another gem on the shelf at Iceland! This is a fatter style than the other excellent Portuguese vino tinto offering that is Rabo de Gallo, also from the Lisboa wine district to the south of the city. This time you get something that I'd compare in style to an Italian appassimento where they use older, dried grapes to intensify flavour, tho' closer to Valpolicella Ripasso than Amarone. But here three Portuguese grape varieties rule along with some spicy Syrah and the result for money makes for stunning drinking with or without food. When I get down to the Algarve Shopping Outlet near Albufiera very soon I hope the Iceland branch there are selling it too....less our taxes ...

This is not just any old wine but a Colossal experience and a unique chance to taste a magnificent Portuguese red wine from the Lisbon area.Deep purple in colour with a beautiful bouquet of Blackcurrants ,Forest fruits , and spices. Just the right amount of body and good length. This one is vintage 2016.Currently on sale at under £8.00. You would be hard pressed to find this quality at £15.00.

I do concur with the rest of the reviews here. Wonderful wine!

2016: Wonderful wine, full of fruit and spice, lots of character and lovely finish. Too easy to drink and unbeatable value now with the recent price drop!

I am delighted to have found a top quality Portuguese red wine on offer at Iceland. Well worth it's gold medal . The wine has a wonderful deep colour in the glass and on tasting bursts full of black currants, spices and forest fruits. Good length plenty of body perfect strength. Drinking well already but will guard worrisome years and will reward keeping. A wine for the connoisseur and a give away at the current price. MAKE SURE IT'S THE 2016 VINTAGE. Enjoy for those special occasions.

This is great. Deep coloured, almost black. Full bodied and, as the label says, spicy. It reminded me of cinnamon. A great Portuguese wine for the money. We had it with Lancashire hotpot and really enjoyed it.
