Defrost Instructions

Defrost your turkey thoroughly on a tray in a fridge (no more than 4°C) allowing 10 to 12 hours per kg. Once defrosted remove the packaging (retain the label on the front of the bag), giblets and neck. Check that there are no ice crystals in the body cavity and that the legs are flexible before cooking. Once thawed do not refreeze. Once defrosted keep refrigerated and consume within two days.

How to cook

Oven cook From Defrost

Place turkey in a roasting tin and allow to stand at room temperature for an hour before cooking. Cover turkey loosely with lightly greased foil. Cook turkey in a preheated oven, removing the foil for the final 90 minutes. Remove from oven, cover with foil and rest for 30 minutes before carving. Preheat oven to: 180°C/160°C Fan/Gas Mark 4 Weight (kg): Less than 4kg, Approximate Cook Time: 20 minutes per kg + 70 minutes Weight (kg): Greater than 4kg, Approximate Cook Time: 20 minutes per kg + 90 minutes Check that the turkey is cooked by piercing the thickest part of the turkey with a skewer. When the turkey is cooked the juices should run clear. Please note all appliances vary, the cooking times above are guidelines only and the turkey should be checked during cooking to avoid under or over cooking.

Good value, have bought my turkey from Iceland for years, always good.

Thought we would try a frozen turkey for a change after reading the favourable reviews, it seems to be good value and although we have not tried it yet we are expecting it to be the usual high standard of othe Bernard Matthews products we have our based from you. Regarding the delivery, it was on time the guy who delivered was polite and represented Iceland very well, really pleased.

I get this brand every year as I have tried Tesco, Sainsburys and a bronze turkey and out of them all Bernard Matthews is the most tender flavourful turkey you can get. Iceland seems to be the only place that does it, the only disadvantage of it is the drumsticks and wings fall off during cooking, so it wouldn't be for those who want to carve at the table. Personally for me I wouldnt do that, but thumbs up here for succulence and taste
