Baked stuffed cannelloni pasta with creamy ricotta cheese, spinach and rocket leaves

Serves 2 as a starter / Serves 1 as a main

This was my grandfather's favourite dish. Baked pasta filled with peppery rocket leaves, spinach and sweet ricotta cheese. 20 years on and Nonno Giovanni's cannelloni is still a firm family favourite.

When I'm at home, you will often find me in the kitchen creating my favourite Italian meals, many of which are featured in my cookbooks and television shows. But here's my secret... I often freeze them, so my family can enjoy real Italian food whenever they want to. Using the same recipes, ingredients and methods, I am pleased to have created a range of classic meals all made in Italy, for you to enjoy at home just like my family do......Buon Appetito

Gino D'Acampo Signature

How to cook

Oven Frozen

Fan 220°C Cook time: - 45 min.

Gas 6

Pre-heat for 10 minutes.

Remove from outer carton and plastic bag before cooking.

Place onto a baking tray and cook in the middle of the oven for 45 MINUTES.


Microwave Frozen

Cook time: - 12 min.

800w

Remove from outer carton.

Do not pierce or remove plastic bag.

Place onto a microwaveable plate and cook for 6 MINUTES.

Stand for 1 minute, return to microwave and continue to cook for a further 6 MINUTES.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN OPENING THIS PRODUCT AS THERE MAY BE A BUILD-UP OF STEAM.


Defrost

in a refrigerator

Defrost this dish in a refrigerator for 12 hours.

Once defrosted keep refrigerated and use within 24 hours.


Oven Defrost

Fan 200°C Cook time: - 35 min.

Gas 6

Pre-heat for 10 minutes.

Remove from outer carton and plastic bag before cooking.

Place onto a baking tray and cook in the middle of the oven for 35 MINUTES.

We really enjoyed the spinach and ricotta cannelloni, just as good as in a restaurant. And each pack was a generous portion size. Buying it again.

It was lovely plenty of sauce tasted nice went well with garlic bread and plenty of Parmesan cheese

We loved this & have bought this again, I am hard to please but this is Excellent

Just found out this product does not use animal rennet - which makes it great for vegetarians. I shall always have it in my freezer as it tastes so good.

This was delicious All the ingredients taste fresh and natural. It tasted homemade.

I was quite sceptical as I am quite picky about food and I am Italian. I got them as I couldn't go back to Italy for Christmas and not in the the mood to prepare me something nice for Christmas dinner (and I am vegetarian, so my mother in law turkey wouldn't have work). I was so happy when I tried them and they tasted so good. Spinach inside are tender and there is a lot of ricotta cheese inside. The white bechamel and tomato sauce have a good, delicate taste, and you can actually taste the pieces of mozzarella on top of it. I highly raccomand this product and I will buy it again, it deserve 5 stars.

I normally love spinach and ricotta cannelloni but this was horrible. Bought this and the ragu one as I use Gino's cook books so had high hopes but I couldn't finish this, just tasted very salty with no other flavour. Maybe a bad batch but I won't be buying again.

Incredibly salty, couldn't finish the meal due to this. So disappointed as I love cannelloni. Could have done with more spinach to ricotta ratio. Not even the sauce was nice to be honest

One of my favourite Italian home-cook meals. It's a vegetarian cannelloni based around spinach and ricotta cheese - but to my mind the secret weapon here is the rocket - really adds the extra something. Anyone thinking rocket is only for eating raw in a salad? - you need to try this. The dish has a really balanced, wholesome vibe to it, and can be complemented deliciously with some nice balsamic - or worcester sauce if you fancy a bit more kick. One extra note - I'm quite lazy on food preparation and started out microwaving this, but after experimenting it's even better prepared as Gino recommends. Defrost overnight in the fridge and then cook in a medium oven. Worth it.

So much better than other frozen cannelloni!!
