A super quick and easy recipe that the whole family will love. This delicious Beef Chilli Con Carne takes just 22 minutes to put together from just freezer and cupboard ingredients, and can be made as mild or as spicy as you like. This time we’ve served it with our Southern Fried Wedges, but you can also serve with white rice if you prefer. To speed up cooking time and to save on electricity bills, you could cook the potato wedges in an air fryer until crispy! See method

  • Iceland Frozen Lean 5% Steak Mince 475g
  • 1 cup of Iceland Frozen Diced Onions
  • 1 cup of Iceland Frozen Mixed peppers
  • 1 tin of 400g Chopped Tomatoes
  • 1 tin of Red Kidney Beans
  • Colemans Chilli con carne seasoning packet
  • 1 tbsp of Iceland Frozen Chopped Chilli
  • Iceland Southern Fried Wedges
  • Iceland Spring Onions
  • Tomato Puree 2 tbsp

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C and place a single layer of potato wedges on a baking tray at the top of the oven. Cook for 22 minutes or try them in an air fryer if you have one!
  2. In a large frying pan, heat the oil for one minute then add the minced beef, chilli, onion and peppers for 5 minutes until onion is soft and mince is brown.
  3. Mix the seasoning sachet with 125ml water and pour over the mince.
  4. Then add the tomato puree and stir in, before adding the chopped tomatoes and drained kidney beans.
  5. Simmer the chilli on a low heat for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Then take the chilli off the heat and leave to stand, whilst chopping some spring onions for garnish.
  7. When ready, serve both the wedges and the chilli together and top with the spring onion.
