These delicious Swedish Meatballs are a homemade version of the iconic Ikea meatballs. Served with our ready-made Perfect Mash, they’re a whole lot easier than assembling flat-pack furniture, that’s for sure! See method

What you’ll need

Ingredients

  • Iceland Meatballs
  • 1 small onion
  • 20g Beef Gravy Granules
  • 80ml Single Cream
  • Iceland Perfect Mash
  • Iceland Garden Peas

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 22-25 minutes, until browned and cooked through.
  3. In the meantime, prepare the gravy by heating a little vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened.
  5. Sprinkle in the Goldenfry Original Beef Gravy and some cracked black pepper, stirring to combine.
  6. Slowly pour in the boiling water, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  7. Stir in the single cream and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
  8. Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the gravy and let them gently simmer in the pan.
  9. In the meantime, prepare the mashed potatoes and garden peas according to package instructions.
  10. Serve the Swedish meatballs and gravy alongside the mashed potatoes and garden peas. Enjoy!
