Image of a new Iceland store opening

Welcome to Peterhead!

We kicked off the New Year with another brand new store opening!!

The new Iceland Peterhead opened its doors on 14th Jan in the old Woolworths site on Marischal Street to queues of eager shoppers.

Staff looked on with excitement as the people of Peterhead rushed down the aisles. The local community couldn’t wait to stock up on all the great Iceland value. With our free home delivery service for customers spending over £25, it was a lively day in the town.

Iceland was welcomed by customers and councillors alike. Peterhead South and Cruden Councillor Stephen Smith said: "It is good to see the old Woolworths store re-opened under its new guise and I am delighted to see that 31 new jobs will be created by Iceland. It is also good news for Peterhead town shopping centre."

One local shopper, Mary Ward, from Peterhead, said she was happy that the new Iceland store was opening saying: "It was sad when Woolworths closed but it's good for Iceland to finally open up."

The opening day was a great success with a real party atmosphere and balloon modellers to entertain the kids.
