Save the Family
Save the Family provides sheltered accommodation for local homeless families in North-West England and North Wales.
It is a last-chance resort for families who otherwise have nowehere else to go. Rejected as lost causes by all other agencies, their only alternative is for their children to be taken into care and the family broken up.
Iceland has been a long-term supporter of Save the Family, with employees at our head office in Deeside undertaking a variety of fundraising activities for the charity, including cake sales and raffles.
In November 2010 Iceland Chief Executive Malcolm Walker presented a cheque for £17,500 from The Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation to Save the Family. Malcolm Walker said: “We are delighted to continue our support for the excellent work of Save the Family in keeping families together by providing accommodation for those who would otherwise become homeless and face having their children taken into care.”
In November 2012, we were delighted to continue our support by making a seasonal donation of vouchers and Christmas treats to bring some cheer to homeless and desperate families in Deeside, North Wales, Chester and the surrounding areas.
